Femicide Zero

Every 10 minutes, a woman or girl is killed by an intimate partner or family member. These are not accidents. They are acts of systematic violence. At CSW70 Unizons campaign Femicide Zero goes international.

Every 10 minutes, a woman or girl is killed by an intimate partner or family member.

These are not accidents.

They are acts of systematic violence, often preceded by warning signs that were ignored.

Despite long-standing knowledge and repeated warnings from civil society, the response from governments, police and authorities is still too often insufficient.

Femicide Zero

Unizon launched the campaign Femicide Zero with one simple message: No women should be killed.

Sweden has now adopted a national zero vision against femicide. But this must become a global commitment.

What must change

To stop femicide, governments must act:

  • Treat men’s violence against women as a national emergency
  • Protect women with shelters and support
  • Stop perpetrators

Stand with us

At the UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York, Unizon is bringing Femicide Zero to the international stage.

Stop him. Protect her.
